The Access and Benefit-Sharing Clearing-House (ABSCH) is a platform for sharing information on access to genetic resources in the Philippines. It is part of the clearing-house mechanism for the Convention on Biological Diversity.
Purpose
- Help users access genetic resources and traditional knowledge.
- Help providers share the benefits derived from genetic resources.
- Support the implementation of the Nagoya Protocol.
How it works
- Enhances legal certainty and transparency.
- Helps monitor how genetic resources are used.
- Gives users access to information on access and benefit-sharing.
